Welcome from the Chairman

The stability of the global marketplace during the past five years has been precarious, at best. As industry leaders have worked to resolve the myriad challenges faced by our interconnected economies, one thing has become clear—it is entrepreneurship, leadership and the thoughtful work of talented executives, managers and their employees that will drive industry forward. It is with this in mind that the Organizing Committee of the Wharton Global Forum in Paris has chosen to develop its master classes and panels around the theme “Talent.”

The Wharton School stands at the forefront of talent development through its renowned undergraduate, MBA and doctoral programs, Executive Education offerings and Lifelong Learning programming. Some of Wharton’s leading faculty members are investigating the issues related to this area—such as the skills gap, the employer-employee divide, executive development, and many other pertinent topics. Based on feedback from Wharton alumni through surveys and focus groups hosted by Wharton Lifelong Learning and Alumni Relations staff, programming at the Wharton Global Forum in Paris will focus on managing talent in the workplace as well as developing your own talent.

As Chairman of the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to invite you to join Wharton faculty, alumni, and renowned researchers and executives around the globe for this interactive event, October 10-11, 2013.

I look forward to seeing you in Paris,

Antoine Dréan, WG’92
